Liminal Listening

Liminal Listening

Liminal Listening: A Sacred Invitation

The word liminal comes from the Latin limen, meaning “threshold.”

To dwell in a liminal space is to stand at the edge of transformation — a realm of transition and possibility - where change stirs quietly beneath the surface.

This change may be related to something physical – however often it’s about a shift we feel emotionally or spiritually. These are often the moments where God’s next step in our plan is unfolding, and we find our patience tested!

Bridge’s Transition Model helps to illustrate the often chaotic experience of change through 3 stages:

  1. Endings (letting go of the past).
  2. The neutral zone (a period of uncertainty and disorientation).
  3. New beginnings (adopting new ways of thinking and behaving).

When to try Liminal Listening

You might sense a shift or a feeling? Or a higher calling that you need to change? But you're unsure where to begin.

Sometimes change is sparked by a specific event in your life.

Or it can be brought about by realisation.

It may be that you need support with a historical or ongoing situation that is affecting you at a deep emotional and perhaps spiritual level.

Very often, our clients try Liminal Listening before a healing session, where they wish to begin by talking.

Others may find themselves at a crossroads in their spiritual path.

Seek help from me, and my own experience of walking other spiritual paths, before I returned home to God.

A rare position

Because I'm in a rare position of having studied and practised a range of spiritual practices.

I understand the language and the knowledge of what happens in the spirit realm.

I’m not here to preach or judge – through prayer, I can help you confront the truth that you may already be sensing.

For others, the change can be work or career-related

As a spiritual warfare counsellor, I know all too well the intentions and tricks of the darker forces.

But more importantly, the authority we have over them through Jesus Christ.

My approach

My approach is informed by over 20 years of experience in Human Resources and Organisational Development.

As a specialist in change, culture, and career development, I can support you and others through a huge variety of situations in your workplace.

What To Expect From A One-To-One Liminal Listening Session

In each session, there are three core conditions of person-centred counselling. Developed by Carl Rogers. Which create a safe and empowering therapeutic environment.

1.Empathy.

2. Congruence.

3. Unconditional positive regard.

Together, we’ll establish ways of working which will consider the best way for me to help you.

Through prayer, I’ve learned to hold space for myself — and where I can hold it for you too.  To help you hear from God what longs to be known by your spirit.

Outcomes

You will feel deeply heard, seen, understood, and met.

I may ask questions — some gentle, some that stir something deeper.

There’s no pressure to answer, only an invitation to explore your truth more fully and perhaps to consider that in relation to people, situations, stories, and their deeper meanings.
